Healer of All

Lyrics

Lift up your head and count to three
Erase the darkness from what you see
You can get out you can go home
You don’t have to do it alone

Everything looks dark, everything is sad
Put your hand in mine, It won’t be so bad
Everything looks dark, everything is sad
Put your hand in mine

Healer of all
You will never let us fall
All of our plans
Are met with your working hands
Always

Hold me down so I won’t fly away
Just a little longer please stay
Your hands are strong your heart is brave
Come closer here I’ll keep you safe

Everything looks dark, everything is sad
Put your hand in mine, it won’t be so bad
Everything looks dark, everything is sad
Put your hand in mine

Healer of all
You will never let us fall
All of our plans
Are met with your working hands
Always
Always

Healer of all
You will never let us fall
All of our plans
Are met with your working hands
Always

About the song

This is one of the darker songs on the album in a way. The overall album is about having hope even when things get dark. In Healer of All, I thought about Richard's mother, Debbie, and her spirit of giving and helping, putting others before herself. This is something she has done since I have known her and as I understand, her whole life. When there is a problem or work to be done, she jumps in without hesitation. She wants to help and heal and use her knowledge as a nurse to care for people. Even though Laura is no longer with us, she was always surrounded by people that love her and Debbie never left her side. But when someone is such a dedicated healer, who heals them? I wrote this song for Debbie for her birthday back in June because we all need reminders of the good things we are doing. Lots of times we try and even fail, but even when failure happens, the trying and the showing up are really what matters.
