One thing that Richard and I have always said that we give each other is non-judgment. Phrases like "my other half" or that we "complete" each other just don't quite seem to fit for me because that is not how I see our relationship. What we do is make each other better and we allow each other to truly be who we are without limitations and without conditions. When you find the person that makes you feel like the world is right and allows you to truly live, the world is brighter and life is exciting. Sharing experiences that are fun, tragic, happy, and everything in between with the person I love is something that I do not take for granted. For a long time I wondered if I would find someone. For an even longer time, I wondered if the future would exist at all. I wrote a poem for Richard a few years ago and I am sharing a few lines below. These are not song lyrics as I wanted the poem to continue to stand alone as a poem, but it speaks to how I feel and how alive he makes me feel.

You do not make me one, you make us two.

What you add to me, I will always add to you.

You did not complete me, you made us new.
